Today we wanted to talk about the unexpected ways in which a great online reputation (i.e. high star rating and a lot of positive reviews) can help your business grow.
The key: getting organic customers
If you have a bunch of reviews on Google, Yelp, or Facebook, you’re going to get a lot of people coming to your website organically. This is because they’re going to see that your business is way above the competition. Think about it – if you have 100 reviews and your competition has 10 or 15, you’re going to be the obvious choice and most people people are just going to choose you, no questions asked.
That’s more money for you automatically, no surprise there.
But what’s unexpected is the following example of how this snowball can get bigger and bigger and essentially help your business bring in a ton more customers.
It’s all about your sales funnel
Once you increase your customer base organically through having a great online reputation, you should continue to communicate with them and nurture them. In other words, they should be able to experience your sales funnel, which will make them a lot more likely to come back and buy again and again.
Here’s an example of how a sales funnel should work:
Add all your new prospects and customers to your list. From there, continue to market them consistently. You can send soap opera emails and Seinfeld emails – all that good stuff that you normally do for your business. Be sure to include upsells or order bumps on your checkout pages.
Then the prospects become customers, and the customers become repeat customers. They then leave more reviews, which in turn attracts more organic customers.
